This year, the 8th June marks the 29th anniversary of World Oceans Day!
World Oceans Day was proposed by Canada during the 1992 Earth Summit as a way to focus on the Earth's oceans that connect us all. Since then, in 2008 the UN recognised 8th June as the official World Oceans Day.
Thousands of polystyrene balls on Brighton Beach
Following our beach clean last week, Brighton beach has since been polluted with hundreds of thousands of tiny polystyrene balls! It was reported that they were seen all along the seafront from the Palace Pier and past Hove.
Yesterday on Sunday 11th April we did our first beach clean of the year! We rallied up some troops and took to Brighton beach to pick up the litter in a socially-distanced fashion.
