March 22nd celebrates World Water Day and this year's theme is 'Valuing Water'.
The annual celebration observed by the UN is aligned with the 6th Sustainable Development Goal: clean water and sanitation for all by 2030. The UN explains that 1 in 10 people worldwide lack access to clean, sanitary water and if we do not take action by 2050, up to 5.7 billion people could be at risk of living in an area where water is scarce for at least one month per year.
At Aquapax we truly believe that everyone should have access to clean water while ensuring we do not further pollute our world with single-use plastic.
Charities and organisations such as Friends of the Earth and City to Sea are using World Water Day to urge the UK government and the general public to help minimise the amount of plastic pollution caused by single-use water bottles.
In the UK, it is estimated that 16 million plastic water bottles go un-recycled per year. A way to combat this is by using alternatives to plastic water bottles such as carton water bottles that are 100% recyclable and majority plant-based.
Join us in our revolution against single-use plastic water bottles and our mission to achieve sustainable and clean water for all.
